Stephanie Martin

Stephanie Martin is a local natural historian with a special interest in scientific illustration and etching. She previously was a schoolteacher, but then on a whim took an etching class at Cabrillo College in 2006. Her interests blossomed, and she continued her new passion by taking advanced art classes at UC Santa Cruz. She now is a well-known nature illustrator that participates in galleries in San Francisco and near Mono Lake. She enjoys nature drawing because it allows her to spend time outside, where she is happiest, and allows her to spend hours carefully observing a single species.
