Phil Carpenter

phil carpenter and an excellent harvest of boletesDr. Phil Carpenter is originally from the Midwest. As a child, his first naturalist instincts led him to awe at mushrooms. For several years Phil taught as faculty in Analytical Chemistry, but has recently retired. He is still active in many local fungi events and often leads local foraging events. Phil sees a naturalist as someone interested in nature, interested in the wholeness of nature - interactions between trees, water, birds and all other organisms. Phil thinks a good way to get people interested in natural history is to encourage them to make repeated observations of the same organism or individual.
