Nick Bergeron
Nick Bergeron recently graduated with his Ecology degree from UC Santa Cruz. Nick was always interested in the natural world growing up, participating in activities such as rock climbing, sky diving and reading in nature. At UC Santa Cruz, Gage Dayton helped him grow immensely as a naturalist by providing him positive feedback and guidance. Nick also worked on the SMURF (small mammal undergrad research in the FERP [forest ecology research plot]) as an undergrad, where he learned to trap small mammals which eventually led him to pursue a senior thesis exploring rodent ecology. Nick believes one of the largest barriers for people identifying as naturalists is a lack of sufficient outreach, especially since so many in our country do not believe climate change is happening.
