Julie Sidel
A park interpreter for many years, Julie Sidel has an anthropological background and love for the natural world which she shares with anyone she meets. Working at the Santa Cruz Mission State Park, she bridges the gap between researchers and state park visitors through her stewardship. As an avid adventurer, she’s committed to taking care of, and teaching about, the open spaces we all love so they can be preserved for future generations.
Julie is at the center of a web filled with researchers, students, community members, and scientists and plays the vital role of interpreter by creating a space for people to build a connection with nature. She participates in conservation projects with researchers to gain first hand experience so she can bring science to people. It is important to her to create meaningful moments in nature for the public to share joy and wonder about the revitalizing natural moments they experience.
